Organized Freedom mini-itineraries:
Venice, Florence & Rome.
The big three; world-renowned Italian icons. Our guides in each city can show you around, and help you get started on your own explorations. (Recommended minimum time to see all three cities: 7 days).
Cinque Terre National Park & the Alpi Apuane mountains.
Scenic walks and seaside villages along the Cinque Terre coast, then a change in altitude and landscape to Pruno, a small village in the mountains of north Tuscany. (Recommended minimum time: 5 days).
Bologna & Parma.
Two historic and non-touristy cities in the region of Emilia-Romagna, both famous among Italians for their artistic wealth and superb cuisine. (Recommended minimum time to see both: 5 days).
Volterra & Elba Island.
Contrasting aspects of Tuscany: the hilltop fortress-town of Volterra and the laid-back seaside village of Marciana Marina; from the cultivated countryside to a mountainous island outpost. (Recommended minimum time: 5 days).

The Amalfi Coast & Capri.
Synonymous with sparkling seas, sunshine and sophisticated charm this seductive southern Italian region has captivated travelers for centuries. (Recommended minimum time: 5 days).

Cilento & Matera.
Head south and travel back in time. Picturesque fishing and farming villages, the country’s 2nd–largest National Park and signs everywhere of a human history stretching back 9000 years. (Recommended minimum time: 5 days).
Sardinia.
A mountainous island on an emerald-colored sea, ringed by beautiful beaches. From it’s wild interior dotted with stone-age ruins and timeless villages to the lively piazzas and elegant palaces of Cagliari and Alghero, Sardinia is another Italy altogether. (Recommended minimum time: 8 days).
The Dolomites National Park.
Not far north of Venice jagged peaks rise above peaceful valleys echoing with cow-bells and church-bells. Empty roads and well-signed hiking trails link postcard-perfect villages. Cozy inns offer warm hospitality and nourishing mountain food. (Recommended minimum time: 5 days).

Unguided travel in Italy can be a frustrating, confusing and costly experience. Our 'virtual guiding' service will ensure your own trip runs sweetly and smoothly.
You won't lose time trying to figure out Italy's idiosyncratic public transport system. You won't waste money at disappointing restaurants and accommodations. You won’t get caught behind the language barrier, flipping through your phrase-book, trying to make yourself understood.

We’ll take care of all the arrangements, liaising in Italian with the various accommodation and activity providers to ensure nothing is lost in translation. We’ll make sure everything comes together as it should so you can relax and enjoy your Italian journey as it unfolds each day.
Your tour will be tailor-made. You choose the trip duration, style of accommodation, modes of transport, combination of activities and attractions. We’ll talk you through the options and suggest special people, places and experiences to consider.
Once your trip is underway we can continue to fine-tune the itinerary if you wish. You’ll be fully-supported throughout. This is the key to ‘organized freedom’.

Specialist local guides might be involved now and then (for example, for a boat-trip around Venice, a guided tour of Volterra or a hike in the Alpi Apuane mountains). At other times you’ll be on your own but with us as your ‘virtual guides’, always easy to reach by phone or email.
How it works:
Step one:
Sketch out your Italian dream-vacation combining your ‘must-see’ hit-list with one or more of our Organized Freedom mini-itineraries.
Step two:
Email us to request your personalised itinerary. We'll need to know:
- how many people will be in your group, along with ages, interests, levels of fitness;
- when you want to travel, where you want to go and how much time you have available;
- what type of accommodation you prefer (anything is possible, from 5-star hotels to farm-stays, back-country inns, backpacker hostels, vacation homes, etc.);
- how you want to travel (self-drive car, public transport, chauffeur-driven service);
- what activities you'd like to include (eg: hiking, biking, sea-kayaking, cooking classes, wine tours, etc.);
- what attractions you'd like to see (village markets, art galleries and museums, opera performances, archeological sites, etc.).

Step three:
We'll combine your ideas with our local knowledge to come up with a tailor-made itinerary.
Step four:
Together we'll fine-tune the plan to get it just right, then we'll put it into action. As you travel you'll have our full support.
